One line. Every real gap.
Combine the coverage.
Keep the gaps.
Paste measured or annotated spans along one line. Merge overlaps and touching endpoints, then inspect the exact covered length without counting it twice. Each separated component remains visible.

All bounds are closed and continuous. A point [3,3] is valid, with length zero. No extra endpoint unit is added.

Exact union coverage
- Raw summed length
- Multiplicity excess
- Input rows
- Merged components
| No. | Start | End | Length |
|---|
Multiplicity excess is raw sum minus union length. Three copies of [0,2] give excess4; the region covered at least twice has length2. These are different quantities.
Touching joins
[1,2] and [2,3] meet at an included endpoint. They merge to [1,3], length2. The join point adds no length.
Gaps stay gaps
[1,2] and [3,5] remain separate, with coverage3. Even an accepted gap of0.000000000001 stays open.

Up to100 components appear per page. Totals and local text/JSON notes include every component, including isolated points.
Check your strips or annotated spans
The default rows cover [0,6] and [9,12]. Union length is9; raw lengths sum to11 and excess is2. The gap from6 to9 remains uncovered. Coordinates must share a unit; the tool does not infer units or uncertainty, count discrete objects or solve a physical cutting task.
